One of the nine centres

The Throat centre

The only way out of the whole chart. Everything that is to become a word or an action passes through here.

How it works

It connects with many centres at once, so what comes out of it depends on what feeds it. Sometimes you speak from emotion, sometimes from instinct, from will or from identity, and the same voice then sounds completely different.

When it is defined

You have steady access to the way out. You can start speaking or acting from yourself, without waiting for an invitation.

Your voice has a steady sound and people recognise you by the way you speak. It is worth watching where your words come from, because that says more than the words themselves. Words that come from what you really feel reach further than words spoken out of habit.

Which place in me are these words coming from right now?

When it is open

Your way out depends on who is next to you. With some people you speak freely, with others there is no way. This is not a flaw of character, it is how you are built.

You can fit your voice to the situation and speak the language of the people you are with. When somebody invites you into the conversation, your words land with great precision. The trap is speaking only to draw attention or to break a silence.

Am I speaking because I have something to say, or because the silence feels uncomfortable?
