One of the nine centres

The Ajna centre

The place where a thought takes shape. It orders, names and arranges into concepts.

How it works

It is the awareness centre of the mind, always curious, comparing and looking for patterns. It is a superb tool for understanding and for sharing what it sees. In Human Design, however, it is not the place from which you decide about your own life.

When it is defined

You have a steady way of arranging information and it does not change. It gives certainty in what you think, and rigidity when you need to think differently.

You are good at explaining to others how you understand something, and people can rely on it. You give the most when you share what you see instead of persuading. The mind serves others brilliantly and decides about your own life less well.

Am I holding on to this view because it is right, or because it is how I always think?

When it is open

You do not have one way of thinking and that is an advantage. You can step into somebody else's way and see a thing the way the other person sees it.

You can change your mind without losing yourself, and that makes you a good listener. You shine wherever many points of view need to be put side by side. The trap is pretending to be certain so as not to look like somebody who does not know.

Am I trying to look certain right now instead of staying with not knowing yet?
