One of the five types

Type: Generator

In Human Design a Generator is a type with a defined Sacral, a steady source of energy for work and for life. That energy renews itself when it goes into something that genuinely draws you, and it drains fast in whatever you do against yourself.

Strategy

The Generator strategy is to respond. Instead of working out in your head where to start, you can wait for something to come from outside: a question, an offer, a thing that catches your eye. Only then does the body show whether there is energy in it. Waiting here does not mean doing nothing. It only means that life makes the first move and you make the second.

Aura

The tradition describes the Generator aura as open and enveloping. People and things come to you easily, because this energy can be felt from far off. So there are often more offers than days to spend on them, and what matters more than how many there are is which of them your body truly responds to.

Signature and not-self

The signature is satisfaction: a day that ends in pleasant tiredness after something that was yours. Frustration is the opposite signal. It tends to show up when energy goes into something chosen out of duty, or out of worry that otherwise nothing will happen. The doctrine does not treat it as failure, but as a hint to return to responding.

Authority in this type

emotional

You have a defined Solar Plexus, the centre of emotion, so in the doctrine your authority is the emotional wave rather than the Sacral's first reaction. The body answers at once, but it is worth letting that answer pass through a few states, from hope to doubt. If the energy is still there afterwards, that is the answer. With big matters this can take days.

sacral

Your authority is the Sacral itself: the body's answer in the moment of a question. It is often a sound or a movement in the belly before any words appear. It is easiest to hear when someone asks you directly and the answer can be yes or no. The mind arrives later with its reasons, and the doctrine suggests not giving it the last word.
